I finally picked this up after hearing about the game's redemption arc, and I can safely say that this game is just...too much. You have to be an autistic psychopath to enjoy this much complexity in a video game.

It's a Strand-like, so it uses online feature to enrich your experience and connect with others on an emotional level, but you can play it alone.

Depends if pirates can play expeditions. Main game you will only miss out on systems being "explored" by someone being updated, which just means that player entered it first at some point, it's as pointless as it sounds. But expeditions are these mini stories they put out that some people actually like and are the closest thing to content in this game, if you can't play the current/previous ones that would be an actual loss. Pirate first anyway, expedition or not this game selling point is looking at things, if you don't find the game pretty, the animals cute or any other reason to grab a screenshot then the game isn't for you as it can't offer anything else

Maybe:

Anonymous it's a bit like souls games where you can see the footprint of other players and sometimes even meet them but you can play without that feature because it's not that important

>I'm talking about small enough that the Vykeen pilot was taller than it
>it was A class so I couldn't afford it
>spend all my efforts acquiring as much money as I can and go back to that system to get the tiny ship
>an hour of waiting and it finally shows up again, as a C class
>buy it and go try it out
>it grows to normal size when I summon it
Biggest disappointment so far. I also found a tiny shuttle, but it flew off before I could even scan it or talk to the pilot. The shuttle looked like a the fricking Scooty Puff Jr from Futurama it was that small. I guess the devs played around with ship size customization, and failed to fully remove it when the patch dropped.- Anonymous

That is a known bug on expedition or it might be for multiplayer in general.

I wanted to play as a space pirate but this game actively punishes you for playing as anything other than a moron space explorer. I don’t give a frick about exploring planets and researching fauna, I want to invade people and plunder their bases/ships.

I don’t want to raid NPC’s all the time, I want to track down actual players and frick their sh*t up.
You are an actual fricking Black person holy sh*t. I want everyone to read this moron gorilla Black person post and see the difference between our mindset that elevates us vs theirs. And I’m supposed to believe were the species Kek.
Go frick yourself.

Look up starsystem coords that are known player hubs with no 'laws'. You can be a pirate all you want there

This but go to systems with laws and make sure you get a scrambler tech for your ship so you don’t have to deal with sentinels. The whole point of being a pirate is to ruin the days of others.

you're either lying or didn't play the game
raiding fleets on pirate systems is the most lucrative thing in the entire game
you get so much money and resources than you will ever need, it's insane
1 hour of pirating gets you all the money you could ever need in the game, you basically break the progression

lol. lmao. It's literally Minecraft: In Space. There is no complexity. It has like 20 different 'things' to do, but they're all basic and shallow as hell.

I feel the exact same man, i bought the game two weeks ago. I expected a chill exploration game but it's literally just minecraft in space. I absolutely cannot be fricked learning all of these recipes.

the funny thing is the "complexity" is just a sh*tload of pedantic window dressing to cover up an experience that is actually EXTREMELY bare bones

It's not complex, that's what makes it comfy for me personally. I play it when I am too tired to engage with anything else and just listen to podcasts or something. Every new feature is a variation of the same thing, and you were really meant to be enjoying them as they came out instead of having it all dumped on you at once

I agree you need an iq of alteast 140 to play this game,Like how do i even open the menu? where are the quest markers? like ayo lilbro you really be tinking that i want to read sh*t? u think i want to learn sh*t? hall nah homie i want the game to play it self likke an epic cinamatic movie. developers need to learn that they need to appeal to the wide auidence not the incel auiduince to make good games.

I'm playing both NMS and X4 Foundations right now. I like X4 more because the universe feels lived in, faction wars and events that are relevant to the universe that you can either engage in or observe. NMS may have some good variety but the overworld is quite vacant.

It's a comfy game, has a lot of good implementations but they feel lackluster in the long run. Settlements would be a good example. Can still easily occupy 20-30 hours of your time but you once you get to endgame and max out your gear and have millions of units there's really nothing else to do other than expeditions or waiting for the next update. It's a lot like Minecraft in a way
